What's wrong?

Tap the one that sounds like your house. You get a plain answer and a sample price. No sales pitch.

Pick a tile above. We'll tell you what it usually is.

No hot water

Usually: a dead heating element, a bad thermostat, or a pilot light that blew out. Most are same-day fixes.

Typical sample price$149 to $450

If the tank is over 12 years old and leaking, we will say so and talk replacement. Sample prices, not a quote.

Clogged drain

Usually: hair, grease, or a toy somebody swears they never flushed. We snake it. If it keeps coming back, we send a camera down to see why.

Typical sample price$149 to $325

Main line clogs cost more. We tell you before we start. Sample prices, not a quote.

Leak

Usually: a worn supply line, a tired fitting, or a pinhole in old copper. Shut off the main valve first. If water is moving fast, call now and we will talk you through it.

Typical sample price$189 to $650

Burst pipes and ceiling drips are emergencies. Do not wait for morning. Sample prices, not a quote.

No heat

Usually: a dirty flame sensor, a dead igniter, or a clogged filter. Check the filter and the thermostat batteries first. If it is below freezing, call now.

Typical sample price$189 to $520

A furnace over 18 years old may be worth replacing. We will show you both prices. Sample prices, not a quote.

AC is out

Usually: a dead capacitor, a refrigerant leak, or a frozen coil. If you see ice on the lines, turn the AC off for an hour and let it melt. Then call us.

Typical sample price$189 to $640

Refrigerant top-offs without finding the leak are a waste of money, so we find the leak. Sample prices, not a quote.

Running toilet

Usually: a flapper that no longer seals, or a fill valve that gave up. Cheap to fix. Expensive to ignore, because it can add up to hundreds of gallons a day.

Typical sample price$119 to $235

Most take 30 minutes. We carry the parts on the truck. Sample prices, not a quote.

Sump pump

Usually: a stuck float switch, a clogged intake, or a pump that is just done after ten years. Pour a bucket of water in the pit. If it does not kick on, call us.

Typical sample price$249 to $625

A full pump swap starts at $425. A battery backup is worth it in storm season. Sample prices, not a quote.

Water heater

Usually: if it leaks, rusts, or is over 12 years old, swap it. Younger than that, we can often repair it for less.

Typical sample price$149 to $450 repair

A 40 gallon tank swap starts at $1,350 installed, old unit hauled away. Sample prices, not a quote.

02 Up-front pricing

03 How it works

Three steps. No runaround.

  1. You call or book

A real person answers, day or night. Tell us what's happening. We'll tell you what to shut off while we drive over.

  2. You get a flat price

Our tech looks, then writes the price on paper. You say yes or no. No pressure, and no charge to say no.

  3. We fix it and clean up

Shoe covers on, drop cloths down, job tested. Every repair carries a one-year labor warranty.

Pipe burst at 1:40 a.m. Someone answered on the second ring. Dale was in my basement by 2:15. I offered coffee. He said no, then said yes.

They quoted $189 on the phone. I paid $189. I keep waiting for the catch. There isn't one.
MarcusBrickyard
Furnace died on the coldest night of January. Teddy had it running in an hour and left no mud on the carpet. I did not know that was possible.
PatCedar Heights
Water heater swapped the same day. They hauled the old one away and wiped the floor. Even the dog approved.
PriyaRiverbend
AC quit in July. The tech drew the capacitor on a napkin so I understood the problem. Fixed for $212. Napkin is on my fridge.
WesStation Hill
Great fix on a running toilet, done in 20 minutes. Only gripe: they were 15 minutes past the window. But they called ahead, so I forgive them.

06 The family

Three Ostranders and a very loud van.

Dale Ostrander started Copperjack in 1988 with a borrowed van and one good wrench. The name comes from his first job: a copper line, a car jack holding up a sagging floor, and a very long Saturday.

Today it is Dale, his daughter Marisol, his son Teddy, and 11 techs who all learned one rule. Leave it cleaner than you found it.

08 Questions

Straight answers.

Do you really answer 24/7?

Yes. A person picks up, not a menu. Nights, weekends, and holidays. If both lines are busy, we call you back inside five minutes.

Do you charge extra at night?

Emergency visits after 7 p.m. and on holidays add a flat $59. We tell you before we send a truck. Club members never pay it.

What if you can't fix it?

Then you pay only the $79 diagnostic fee, and we will point you to the right next step. We would rather be honest than bill you for a guess.

Is the price I'm quoted the price I pay?

Yes. If we find something new, we stop, show you, and write a new price. You can say no and keep the first one.

Do you have a warranty?

One year on labor for every repair. Parts carry the maker's warranty, and we handle the paperwork.

Which brands do you work on?

Nearly all of them. If we do not carry a part for your older unit, we will tell you on the phone, not after we arrive.
